Mr. Archie Byrd Jr., 47, died Monday, Dec. 12 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was a native of Bulloch County and a member of Mt. Olive #1 Baptist Church. He was a retired construction worker.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Palmer of Statesboro; father, Archie (Thelma) Byrd Sr. of Statesboro; mother, Essie Byrd of Nevils; four step-children; three sisters, Rose (Randy) Easter-Williams of Nevils, Lucille Walter of Denmark, S.C., Wanda Pendergrass of Greenport, N.Y.; three brothers, Arthur (Helen) Byrd of Jasper, Fla., Randy (Marybelle) Byrd, Maurice (Sylvia Jackson) Byrd and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Greater Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. John Byrd officiating. Burial will be held at Eastside Cemetery.
