IN CELEBRATION OF THE HOMEGOING OF
MRS. NOVELLA BROOKS PERRY-DAVIS

SUNRISE: January 16, 1908
SUNSET: September 17, 1991

To everything there is a season and a time.
to every purpose under the heaven a time to
be born, and a time to die; A time to plant
and a time to pluck up that which is planted.

NOVELLA BROOKS PERRY-DAVIS, daughter of the late Rev. Lee A. Brooks and Parmelia Wright Brooks was born in Franklin County, January 16, 1908. She departed this life September 17, 1991 at Guardian Care Nursing Home, Henderson, NC after an extended illness.

She grew up in the Concord Community and became a confessed Christian in Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to the Concord Baptist Church. There she engaged participation and membership with the Sunday School, Usher Board, Senior Choir and the Missionary Circle. Here she continued this relationship to the Christian fellowship as long as her health permitted her. She was a devoted wife and mother. Well loved by all who knew her.

In 1923 she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Prince E. Perry. Following his death she was married to the late Wiley Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mrs. Princess Louise Hamme of Iselin, NJ and Mrs. Mary Odessa Cheatham of Kittrell, NC.; sons: Walter Perry of Henderson, NC., Samuel Perry of Perth Amboy, NJ., Thomas Perry of Brooklyn, NY, Gilbert Perry of Yonkers, NY., George of Louisburg and Venson of Henderson; thirty grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.; five daughters-in-law, Mildred Perry of Perth Amboy, NJ., Pauline Perry of Brooklyn, NY., Alice Perry of Yonkers, NY., Hettie of Louisburg, NC. and Olivea of Henderson, NC.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; one devoted son-in-law, O'Neal Cheatham of Kittrell, NC.

PRAYER OF CONSOLATION:
Master, speak and make me ready
When Thy Voice is truly heard
When obedience glad steady
Still to follow every word. Amen
