Revolutionary War Continental Army Officer. A Major in the New Hampshire line, he was entrusted by General George Washington to bring all of the Generals personal papers back to Washington's Mount Vernon home, lest they fall into British hands.

Bezaleel Howe died in 1825; his remains were re-interred at Green-Wood Cemetery 15 January 1850.
