He was a lifetime resident of Rush County, working as the general manager of the Farmer's Co-op of La Crosse for 27 years. He was also employed by the Farmer's and Merchants State Bank, the Home State Bank of La Crosse and The Commerce Bank of Hays. Schoendaller was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Lion's Club, Chamber of Commerce, Historical Society and the Knights of Columbus all of La Crosse. He was also a former city commissioner and mayor of La Crosse.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters Ann Saindon of Ellis, and Sharon Webster and Cecelia Morse, both of La Crosse; one brother Robert Schoendaller of Wichita; three sisters, Louise Horning of Ransom, Irene Steckline of Hays and Georgia Steckline of Wichita and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three, sisters Caroline Schuckman, Minnie Stump and Eva Heigert.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in La Crosse with the Revs. Benjamin Martin, Ken Schuckman and William Miller officiating. Burial will be at at La Crosse City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hays Medical Center Inpatient Oncology Unit in care of Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse.
