A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Canby chapel of Everhart & Kent Funeral Home for James M. Colvin, a Canby resident since 1948 who died Sunday of complications of cancer in an Oregon City hospital. He was 80.
A Portland native, Mr. Colvin was born July 9, 1909 and attended Benson High School. He and his family moved to a farm in Aurora in 1930.
He was a carpenter and worked in the Portland shipyards during World War II.
Mr. Colvin also worked for the Clackamas County Grange.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Mildred; a daughter, Joan King of Canby; a son, Wayne of Canby; brothers, Henry of Woodburn and Robert of Canby; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Zoar Lutheran Church in Canby or the Canby Adult Center.
Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park in Canby.
