He was born Aug, 5, 1892, at Ucon, the son of Robert and Alice Berrett Irwin. He was the oldest son in a family of 10 children. He was educated in Idaho Falls, and helped the family on their Ucon farm until they moved to a ranch near Driggs.
Following World War I, Mr. Irwin moved to Butte Mont., with other members of the family. In 1926 he married Zelda Bramer. They were later divorced. He returned to Idaho Falls, where he suffered for many years from poor health and recurring illness. He later married Pearl Colson.
Mr. Irwin was employed for some time as custodian for the Idaho Falls 6th LDS Ward. He later moved to Twin Falls, where he lived until the fall of 1972 when he moved to Kalispell Mont., to live with his daughter, Mrs. J. A. (Teresa) Roubeau, and her husband. He had just moved with them to Spokane when he became ill and collapsed and died Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, at Idaho Falls. Bishop Alan J. Smith of the Idaho Falls 6th LDS Ward will officiate. The family will meet friends in the Wood Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements, Monday one hour before service. Interment will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
