Chester R. Cottrill Sr., 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 15, 2002, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 29, 1923, a son of the late Clarence Milton and Annise Marie Webb Cottrill. He was a Water Systems Operator for Borg Warner and G.E. Plastics, was a U.S.
Navy veteran, serving in World War II, and was a member of the Edgelawn United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one son, Larry Cottrill of Parkersburg; one sister, Vernia Weinsenstein of Butler, Pa.; two grandchildren, William Hinton of Vienna and Mary Nicole Hinton of Ohio; and his caregivers, Ruth Spencer and Donna Fluharty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Belle Spencer Cottrill; one son, Chester R. Cottrill II; one daughter, Deborah Hinton-Balser; one
brother, Clinton Cottrill; and one sister, Edna Mae Craven.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Danny McVey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation
will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
