Jewell Arminta Holladay Harris (1918 - 2012)

Jewell Arminta Holladay Harris, 93, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and "Granny Jewell" to many more, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Wesley Fellowship Church, 9000 White Settlement Road, White Settlement. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Fellowship Church.

Jewell was born June 20, 1918, in Winters. She went to Prairie Hill High School in Duke, Okla., where she played basketball and was known as the "Boy Shooting Forward." She married William "Bill" Harris on Feb. 28, 1942, in Waco. Jewell had been an active Member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1959 and had many close church friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Harris; son, Larry W. Harris; grandson, Karl Harris; two sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors: Brother, Allen Holladay; children, Lana M. Harris Wood; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Harris; grandchildren, Brian Harris, Celina Redinger Goss and Clayton Thomas Redinger; and great-grandchildren, Taj Harris, Reagan and Olivia Goss and Hollyn Redinger.
