OBITUARY

Lavina Frances Norris, daughter of Samuel and Margaret Norris was born in Winnebago county, Illinois June 25, 1852, and departed this life August 18, 1927 age 75 years 1 month and 23 days. She was the fifth daughter of a family of eight all of whom preceded her in death except J.W. Norris of Grinnell, Iowa.

She, with her parents emigrated to Poweshiek county in 1857? and has lived here continuously throughout her life.

She was united in marriage to Julius Billick December 24, 1868 and to this union seven children were born, two infant sons, preceding her in death and there remains besides the husband, four daughters and one son, Mrs. H.C. Pimlott of Grinnell, Mrs. Mae Field, Morrison, Ill., Mrs. J.F. Sutton, Newton, Iowa, I.H. Billick, LeGrande, Iowa, Miss Eva Billick, Brooklyn, also eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In youth she united with the Methodist Church and later joined the Christian Church. Throughout her life she has been a faithful Christian and kind and loving wife and mother.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. E.W.F. Holler had charge of the services. Pallbearers were U? M. Reed, John Williams, Frank Talbott, Fred Cunningham, F.W. Jones, I.J. Ormiston. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
