I can remember that day like it was yesterday.
I was 14 years of age when the news came that my cousin Darrell Ray had been killed in action.
That was my first Military funeral to attend, it was sad but also beautiful. The Taps were played by a soldier in the woods and answered by another at the graveside.
The family was so heart broken, Velma, his mother never believed he was killed, but would come home again someday.....

Corporal Brimberry was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
