Mrs. Mayme Lee Wayne, 518 Chandler St., Campbellsville, died in Jefferson County on the Kentucky Turnpike, enroute to the Methodist Hospital in Louisville, Saturday, February 13, 1971, at 4:10 p.m. She had been a patient at the Taylor County Hospital for the past 30 days suffering with a congestive heart condition. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. J. Chester Badgett with burial in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Wayne was born in Taylor County in the Black Gnat community, daughter of Mary Alice Hinton and Hector Owen Sharp. She was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons: B. L. Wayne, Campbellsville; Allen Taylor Wayne, Fairfield, California; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances (Tom) Luckett, Lebanon; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Eva Akin, Campbellsville, and Mrs. Lottie (Sam) Gardner, both of Campbellsville, and one brother, Ralph Sharp of Campbellsville. A sister, Mrs. Grace Larimore preceded her in death Jan. 4 of this year.
