The funeral of Mrs. Angelic LaVatta was held Friday morning at Fort Hall and the remains laid to rest in the Fort Hall cemetery. Mrs. LaVatta belonged to the Shoshone tribe of Indians and spent all her 90 years in Montana and Idaho. She was the widow of Thomas laVatta, who died 27 years ago. There were seven children born, four sons, who are still living and three daughters, two of whom died in infancy and one who died in Canada leaving a grown family. Besides the four sons, Edward, Raphael, Phillip and Thomas, Jr., she is survived by 24 grandchildren, living here and in Canada, also several great grandchildren and other relatives who mourn her death. She was a strong Christian and belonged to the Catholic church for years.
•She is recorded on the censuses for 1880, 1900 and 1910 as having been born in Idaho. The record of deaths of Indians enrolled at the Fort Hall Agency jurisdiction, lists Angeline Lavatta died November 25, 1924, age 87.
