Jessie I. (Adams) Murray-Sheets, 87, of the White Star at Napolean Place, Johnstown, formerly of Jerome, died Aug. 3, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 3, 1915 in Johnstown, daughter of Jonathan and Virginia (Yost) Adams. Preceded in death by parents; first husband Walter Murray; second husband, Andrew P. "Jock" Sheets; sisters Mary Kesslar, Alice Short, Clara Adams, Edna Pyle; and brothers, William and Melvin Adams. Survived by stepdaughters Lora Jean Sheets, Washington D.C., and Doris (Adams), married to Dale Wagner of Butler; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Thomas of Jerome; and numerous nieces and nephews. Was a waitress at the former White Star Hotel, Jennerstown. Shop steward for the former Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factory, Jerome. Member of former Jerome Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Larry C. Hoover officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
