ENID -- The funeral for W. Russell Went, 70, Bethany, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

He was born April 1, 1924, west of Enid to Walter and Estelle Rusmisel Went and died Friday, June 17, 1994, at Hillcrest Hospital, Oklahoma City. He graduated from Carrier (Okla.) High School and also from Enid Business College. He served in World War II with the U. S. Army, receiving the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was an accountant in California before moving to Oklahoma City in 1990.

Surviving are his son, Roger Went of Bethany; three sisters, Jarilyn Riley, Virginia King, both of Oklahoma City and Janice Decker of Hennessey. He was preceded in death by one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Mulitiple Sclerosis Foundation.
