LeRoy Sarvis was born October 15, 1918 in Loris, Horry County, South Carolina to James Sarvis and his second wife, Matha Skipper Sarvis Blanton. He had one brother, James Clifton Sarvis, and 18 half-siblings. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. A Baptist, LeRoy was a building contractor and farmer. He married Carleen Mincey Sarvis, and they had six children: James Sarvis, Bernice Sarvis Stevens, Elouise Sarvis Hulon, Alene Sarvis Cotton, Patsy Sarvis Vaught, and an infant daughter. LeRoy died at age 93 on May 26, 2012 in Loris and is buried at Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery at Allsbrook in Horry County. His parents are also buried at Cane Branch.
