Jane-Jane was 18 years old when she passed away. I originally named her Janie after one of my sisters but my 5 year old little niece began calling her Jane-Jane and it stuck, her name was changed to Jane-Jane. she was my beloved Chihuahua her parents Jodie and Lacy were my dogs too I got Jodie her father in 1992 and Lacy her mother in 1993. she was one of 2 puppies[her brother Jay] born in their first litter. her brother Jay was 8 months old when he was struck and killed by a car. her younger sister Lucy was born in 1995 for many years it was the 4 of them Jodie,Lacy,Jane-Jane and Lucy acting as "guards" of the house. they always barked when we had visitors. and chased away cats and the 4 of them were aligned against strange dogs that came upon the property. in 2007 Jane-Jane's father Jodie died at 14, in 2009 her mother Lacy died at 16, and in 2010 her younger sister Lucy passed away at 15. Lucy's death left Jane-Jane my last remaining dog. she slept with me and loved me a lot. I loved her very much and I considered Jane-Jane and her family "my children". Jane-Jane made it to her 18th birthday last month but her health was quickly failing as she got older her eyesight was failing,she had arthritis. she disappeared on Wednesday May 23,2012. we searched all over for her but we didn't find her remains until Saturday May 26, 2012. I wrapped her up in a small blanket she sometimes slept on that was on my bed, then I placed her in a garbage bag and buried her beside her mother Lacy with her father Jodie buried at her feet. I will miss Jane-Jane for the rest of my life and love her always. my heart is broken as I have dreaded the day she passed for years.
