Eddie R. France, 94, of Ferrum, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007. He was born June 24, 1912 a son of the late Willie J. and Martha Via France. He was retired from JP Stevens with 34 years of service and was a member and Deacon of Story Creek Baptist Church. He was also a Patrick Henry Allied Family Honoree. Mr. France was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mabel Mullins France; sister, Hazel Meadors; brother, June France; nieces, Elaine and Cecil Handy, Judy and W.P. Johnson, Sr.; great-nieces, Molly and Mark Thomas, Susan Handy, Julie Johnson; great-nephew, W.P. Johnson, Jr.; great-great nieces, Ginna Thomas and Kate Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted from Story Creek Baptist Church, 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Floyd Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
