FRANCE, Robert (“Bob”), of Ferrum, died January 29, 1999, at his home. He was born May 6, 1910 in Franklin County, a son of Martha V. and Willie J. France. Mr. France was a retired school bus driver and farmer, and was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers, Ruth Weddle, Jennings, Archie, Dalton, Amos, and Garfield France. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lelia Ingram France; a son, Clay France; a daughter, Gloria (Byron) Perdue; one grandchild; a sister, Hazel Meadors; four brothers, Eddie France, Chester France, June France, Winfred France. Burial will be in the Ingram family cemetery at Ferrum.
