Mrs. Alice Sperry passed away at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, at the age of 67 years. She was born in Horicon, Wisconsin, 1869, and when an infant, emigrated with her
parents, Frances and Edward Danley to Osage, Iowa
in a covered wagon, living there until 1877, when they moved to Brownsdale and settled on a farm in Waltham Township. She was the oldest of seven children. She attended schools in the country, and later became a teacher in the country and taught for sometime. On a
visit in Wisconsin, she became acquainted with Eugene Sperry and they were married in Austin at the home of her
sister, October 8, 1896. They made their home in Wisconsin for some time. One child, born to them there,
died in infancy.
They later adopted a son Harold, now living at Addison, Ill., and a daughter, Ida, living at home. They came to Minnesota in 1907 and settled on a farm which was their home until the death of Mr. Sperry.
The large farm was soon exchanged for a smaller one where she and Ida made their home until her passing.
She affiliated with the Baptist Church of Brownsdale when a young woman and lived a good Christian life. She had many friends and was loved and esteemed by all who knew her.
