FRANK CZAPLA DIES IN NEW YORK AT AGE OF 73

Frank Czapla of Watkins Glen, N.Y., formerly a resident of this part of Nebraska, died at his home on Monday of last week. He was 73 years of age.

He was a native of Poland and came to this country in the year 1876. For a number of years he followed the blacksmith trade, and after his marriage to Miss Mary Briggs of Duncan in 1883 he farmed in this vicinity until the year 1926, except for two years which he spent in Minnesota, at which time he moved to New York where he lived until his death.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Walter, of Genoa, Leo and Andrew of Fullerton, and Louis, of Watkins Glen; five daughters, Mrs. Tom Liss, of Norfolk, Mrs. John Stempek, of Duncan, Mrs. John Iwan, of Osceola, Mrs. Walter
Starostka, of Silver Creek and Mrs. Floyd Ross of Bonner Springs, Kan.; four brothers, Joe and Adolph Czapla, of Columbus, Charles Czapla, of Boelus, and Henry Czapla of Fullerton, and tree sisters, Mrs. Valentine Czuba, Mrs.
Katherine Shemek and Mrs. Andrew Triba, all of Columbus. Two daughters, Mrs. Frank Sokol and Miss Mathilda Czapla proceded him in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Starostka and family; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sokol; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Starostka and Mrs. Chas. Sock were among those from here who attended the funeral at Duncan on Monday. Mr. Czapla was father to Mrs. W. Starostka and
grandfather of Ben Sokol and Mrs. Sock.

Others from Silver Creek and vicinity who attended the funeral were Tom Micek, Mr. and Mrs. James Stanczyk, Mrs. Mike Kubas, John Kula, Mrs. D.S. Bryant and
Mr. and Mrs. Thos Tomasiewicz.
