DIED
CZAPLA--Andrew M. Czapla, 84, of 669 24th Ave., died Thursday at Columbus Community Hospital following a lingering illness.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Rev. Laurin Buzynski officiating. Burial is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at Duncan.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Czapla was born Sept. 7, 1898 in Polk County, the son of Frank and Mary Brigg Czapla. He attended school at Duncan. On Jan. 18, 1927, he married Emma Bugay at Krakow.
Mr. Czapla lived in Fullerton and Bruno and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Irene (Mrs. Phil) Donaghue of David City and Roberta Buresh of Columbus; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Victoria Starostka of Columbus and Edna Ross of DeSoto, Kan.
