Abelina, of Ranchitos and formerly of Ensenada, was predeceased by her first husband Juan Garcia; her second husband Jose A. Medina; son Phil "Lino" Medina, and a grandson reared by her, Jerry Herrera.
Abelina was survived by her three daughters: Katie Viarreal (husband Juan) of Alcalde; Bernie Jaramillo of Fairview, and Genoveva Espinoza (husband Jose) of Santa Cruz; son Jose Medina (wife Maria) of Ranchitos; a grandson reared by her, Feliz Herrera (wife Kathy) of Fairview; brother and sister-in-law Ernesto Martinez and Bernie of Ranchitos; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other friends.
Public visitation and Rosary were on 8 Aug 2006 in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A funeral mass was at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
