Killed in the Woods
Cookport Man Was Struck by a Falling Limb While at Work

Ira Pitman, a well-known woodsman, of Cookport, met an untimely end, on Saturday, June 17, while working in the woods near St. Mary's, Cameron county, by being struck by a falling limb. The accident occured about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and death was almost instantaneous.

The remains were brought to Cherrytree on Wednesday evening and interment was made at Uniontown on Thursday. The deceased was a young man of exceptionally good habits and leaves an estate of $1700. He was single and leaves a few distant relatives. He was well-known in the northeastern part of the county and leaves a wide circle of friends.
