Like a ship that's left its moorings, and sailed bravely out to sea so someone dear has sailed away, in calm serenity. But there's promise of greater joy, Then the earth could have in store, For God has planned a richer life. Beyond the unseen shore.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Thames, 60, of Topeka, Lawrence County, Mississippi were held last Thursday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Parker of Powell Grove Pentecostal Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Edgar Brewer of Jayess, Mississippi. She was buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Thames died last Wednesday afternoon after an illness of about four months. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Benson Thames and one daughter, Mrs. Annie Bell Thames Mitchell of Ruth, Mississippi.
