Floetta passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at the age of 81.
Born on May 9, 1931 in Beggs, Okla. to Mumford and Pearl (Wood) Castleberry, Floetta grew up and received her education in Colorado. On April 14, 1951, she and William "Bill" Tadpole married in Arkansas and made their home in Tulsa.
They became the proud parents of two children, Connie and Billy DeWayne. They had a home on White Horn Cove at Ft. Gibson Lake for 29 years before moving to Claremore in 2006.
Floetta's home, and particularly the kitchen, was her domain.
Presiding over all kitchen activities, when she wasn't making elaborate and delicious holiday candies, starting a pot of baked beans or teaching Bill to cook turnips to her specifications, she shared her expertise with her daughter and granddaughter. When everyone had been fed she enjoyed doing crosswords or watching the Food Network, scouting out new menu ideas.
Gentle and kind, Floetta is remembered as never having said a harsh word about anyone.
She was fond of the pets that shared her home: her dog, Booger, the cats and the bird whose colorful vocabulary was a source of some concern when the preacher visited.
Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Floetta is survived by her husband, *
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Billy DeWayne Tadpole.
