Tucker was a Corporal in the United States Army during WWI, from which he was honorably discharged. He was the father of three daughters, who sang professionally as The Tucker Sisters and achieved national acclaim on radio and as recording artists during the 1940s. Devoted to his wife of 46 years, E. R. Tucker was beloved by all who knew him.
