Grady Frank Ellenburg, retired Lieutenant Colonel USAF, was living in Greenwood, South Carolina, with his wife, Bettie Jean (Flippen) Ellenburg at the time of his death in 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents. Records indicate Frank was one of nine children and was predeceased by sisters Willie Jean Ellenburg and Frances Billingsley, and brothers Clyde W. and Jerry Adair Ellenburg. Frank was affectionately nicknamed 'Poodler' by his family. He was a '51 alumnus of Furman University, Greenville SC.

Frank's last military assignment was at Tactical Air Command Headquarters, Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia. Frank returned to his home State of South Carolina in 1972 after his military retirement where he and Bettie married. He worked for the County of Greenville, SC as County Administrator for some years. He and Bettie built a home in Greenwood, SC, where they lived the rest of their lives. Frank passed away after a valiant battle against cancer.

Frank was survived by his wife Bettie, who passed away eight months later. He is also survived by two daughters, GeGe and Dawn, several grandchildren, brothers James Ellenburg and wife of Anderson SC, Fred Ellenburg; and sisters Louise Lane of Rogersville TN and Dot Henson and husband of Easley SC.
