Lifelong Almer Township Man Is Buried Here
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for Manuel A. LaPratt of Almer township. Death at the Caro Community hospital was attributed to complications. Services were held at the Sacred Heart Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev Father E. J. Betzing officiated.
Mr. LaPratt was a native of Almer township, spending his lifetime on the farm on which he was born on October 25, 1876. He retired from actual farm work several years ago, and recently had made a prolonged visit at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Bailey
of 229 E. Washington street Caro.
He was married February 12, 1918 to Mary Jacques Cottrell who preceeded him in death March 29, I940.
He Is survived by five children: Alfred Mr. William Bailey and Jerry Cottrell of Caro, Mrs. Donald Putnam and Edward Cotrell of Detroit, 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, three brothers, Joseph of Caro, Frank of Colwood and Henry of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Dillinger and Mrs. Fred Fadie of Detroit.
