Wm. D. McReynolds passed away at his home in Alexis Monday evening about 9:30 o'clock. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was the result of a heart ailment.

William David McReynolds was born February 26, 1876, at New Market, Ohio, where he spent his early boyhood and attended school. He was the son of John and Mary McReynolds nad was one of a family of four children.

On June 1, 1910, he was united in marriage to Miss Madge Postlewait in Alexis. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive with their mother. They are: John, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Annabelle Humes, Galesburg; Harry Reece, Gayle, and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth VanDeVeide, all of Rock Island. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, five nephews and two nieces. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. McReynolds was a veteran of the Spanish American War and a member of the Alexis Presbyterian church. Early in life he taught school in Warren county and for a time he and his brother Reece operated a store in Gerlaw. During his residence in Alexis he was in the painting ad decorating business.

Funeral services will be held at the McKnight Memorial Home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with Dr. Richard Russell officiating.

Burial will be made in the Mt. Vernon cemetery in North Henderson.

Funeral services were held for W. D. McReynolds Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the McKnight Memorial Home with Dr. Richard Russell officiating. Mrs. Wm. H. McKnight sang "Whispering Hope" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Milton Johnson at the organ.

Military services were in charge of the James Harvey Scott Post of the American Legion.

Burial was made in the North Henderson Mt. Vernon cemetery, with Andrew Scott, H. E. Britton, Frank Tubbs, Clarence Johnson, George Porter and Fred Cash serving as pallbearers.
