Joyce Moss Petersen, 69, of Jerome, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away June 30, 1997 at Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was born November 21, 1927 at Provo, Utah to Frank Gordon and Lettie Batty Bennett. Joyce married Ray Moss at Las Vegas, Nevada on November 12, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Perc Petersen on December 19, 1993 at Jerome, Idaho.
Joyce spent most of her childhood in American Fork, Utah and attended school there. She later moved to Salt Lake City where she enjoyed a career in modeling and teaching. She worked at Ann's Casuals for many years in Twin Falls.
Her hobbies included arranging and drying flowers, gardening, sewing and golf. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. Being able to decorate her new home on the golf course with her sweetheart, Perc, fulfilled one of her fondest desires. Her love of family superceded all else. Joyce was a kind and most compassionate woman with a very tender heart, she touched many lives and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Perc; her sons, Jan B. Moss of Boise, ID; Jed Moss of Salt Lake City, UT ; Jeffery; Keith; Evan; Roland Petersen, all of Twin Falls, ID; Kim Petersen of Brigham City, UT ; daughter, Mrs. Fred (Reesa) James of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Mrs. Frank (Colleen) Allen, Reno, NV; Idonna Adamson, Salt Lake City, UT ; Mrs. Jack (Connie) Taylor, Pleasant Grove, UT ; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Randy Bennett; sister, Lova B. Peters.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday in the Jerome LDS Stake Center, north of the High School by Bishop Earl Jones. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. in Redwood Memorial Estates, 6550 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT . Friends may call Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel and Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to service time.
