Mrs. Dunn was the daughter of Earnest and Bertha Mae (Bowling) Brooks. She grew up in Arapaho, Oklahoma, having been reared by her great-grandparents, the late James and Martha Hatchett. After graduating from Arapaho Highschool she was married to Leon Dorance Dunn on June 30, 1935 at the home of his parents in Arapaho. To this union five daughters were born, one of which was stillborn on May 14, 1937. In 1954 the family moved to Oregon, living in Beaverton before settling in Hillsboro. Mrs. Dunn was an accomplished seamstress. Upon her death, at her request, she was cremated and her ashes scattered in the mountains west of Hillsboro. She was a member of the Beaverton, OR Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Leon, of Hillsboro, OR, survivors include four daughters and their spouses: Mona and Donald Carpenter, of Arapaho, OK; Victoria and Richard Gerg, of Kennewick, WA; Karol and Larry Lecuyer, of Beaverton, OR; Peggy and Jack Thompson, of Palmer, AL; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Othie Loughmiller of Vallejo, CA and Kenneth Pebley.
