Roger was born to Howard and Eloise (Horn) Lennon on October 14th, 1947, in Lincoln, Illinois. He went to school in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and then was drafted in the Army, serving from 1968 to 1972 with 2 tours in Vietnam and receiving a Purple Heart. After his return from Vietnam, he married Ann Nelson. They later divorced.
Roger was self-employed in Bettendorf as a welder and owner of Imperial Welding and then I-80 Welding. Roger had also worked as a hot tile and tar roofer. He worked in this area until a welding accident in 1990. Roger enjoyed yard work, gardening, woodworking and painting. Roger was a well-known personality in Bettendorf. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his best friend and companion, Jeanette Miller, of Bettendorf; his mother, Eloise Lennon, his daughters, Teresa Lennon of Elk Horn, IA, and Christina Zellmer of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren, Shae Lennon and Duke Zellmer; Jeanette's children, Sharon(Richard) Thompson of Bettendorf, Steve Holdgrafer of Davenport, and Dr. Rodney(Dr. Shana) Holdgrafer of Atco, NJ, Jeanette's grandchildren, Stefanie Thompson of Bettendorf, and Jennifer(Jon) Kundert of Silvis, IL; Jeanette's great-granddaughter, Kaylynn Kundert; Jeanette's 5 brothers and sisters-in-law; his brother-in-law, Paul Freund of Bettendorf, several nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Jamie Noble of Bettendorf.
In death, Roger has rejoined his father, Howard Lennon and his sister, Cathryn Freund.
