Mr. Seaborn Alvin Mize, 87, of 591 Alvin Mize Road, Royston, Ga. died Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, Ga.
Mr. Mize was born in Hart County, Ga., July 12, 1924, son of the late Otha Cone and Quillie Winn Mize. He was a farmer and was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Velma Elizabeth Fleming Mize.
Survivors include, daughter Janet Holmes of Royston, Ga.; sons, George Mize of Canon, Ga., Jerald Mize of Dewy Rose, Ga. and Tim Mize of Royston, Ga.; brothers, Arnold Mize & Jep Mize both of Royston, Ga. and a sister, Lois Mize of Bowman, Ga. 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Mize was preceded in death by a son, Haley Mize and 7 brothers & 3 sisters.
Funeral Services for Mr. Mize will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga. where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM till Funeral Hour Sunday Afternoon. The family is at their respective homes.
