Julius Mize
Julius Talmadge Mize, 77, of Bowman, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton.
He was born in Hart County on September 15, 1930, the son of the late Otho C. and Quillie Winn Mize. He was owner and operator of Mize Cabinet Shop and was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Mize was preceded in death by brothers, Lee, Ernest and Warren Mize; and a sister, Dora Whitmire.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Brown Mize, Bowman; son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Betsy Mize, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Latrice and Scott Clifton, Augusta, and Becky and Stoney Anderson, Royston; grandchildren, Ambrey Mize and Andrew Mize; brothers, Wilburn Mize, Dewy Rose, Alvin Mize, James Mize and Nelson Mize, all of Vanna, Arnold Mize and Jep Mize, both of the Holly Springs Community; and sisters, Lettie Roberts, Tignall, Alice Todd and Lois Mize, both of Bowman.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 28, at the Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Life Enrichment Center at Unity Baptist Church, 3908 Hwy. 17 South, Royston, Ga. 30662.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
