Emma Christine Hinricks (1888-1971) was born at Tuscola, Douglas County, Illinois. She married Roscoe Logan Fickes (1886-1979), a native of Matoon, Coles County, Illinois.
The Fickes Family came to Mississippi in 1926, the result of Mr. Fickes transfer with the United Gas Company. They were the parents of three daughters also Illinois natives: Katherine Ruth Ann Fickes (1911-2006) m. Marcel Joseph Bellande (1909-1982); Dorothy Fickes (1913-2000) m. Gordon A. Dacy and William F. Wentzell; and Margaret Louise Fickes (1917-2009) m. Robert C. Lee and Dr. James Ray Foster (1917-2002).
