Collis Harold "Tom" Davis, Sr., of Bamberg, SC, husband of 55 years of Daisy Blume Davis, passed away May 14, 2012.
Born September 24, 1932, in Norway, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur Wells Davis and the late Lou Ella Davis.
Mr. Davis was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg, SC.
He had an associate degree in industrial engineering and retired from Delevan with 27 years of service and worked at the Bamberg Textile for ten years.
Mr. Davis enjoyed fishing, gunsmithing, and time with his family. He was past master of Ornan Lodge #38, Bamberg, SC. Collis was a volunteer firefighter and rescue squad. He also served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Germany. He also served in the SC Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Janice (Jesse Leon III) Strickland of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Harold (Joyce) Davis of Lodge, SC, Pamela (Rocky) Biering of Denmark, SC; eight grandchildren, Mallory Biering, Adam Davis, Richie Sineath, Caitlyn (Daron) Vincent, Ashley (James) Mizzelle, Christopher Strickland, Lindsey Sineath, Jennifer Strickland and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters, Solomon, Sam, Ryland, Tommy Davis, Mozelle Bowen, Mattie Furtick, Lucy Bacon and one granddaughter, Whitney Biering.
Funeral services will be, May 16, 2012, at 3 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Bamberg, SC, with the Rev. Charlie Lucas and Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. Burial to follow in the Bamberg County Memory Gardens.
