Mrs. Wilhelmina Bredemeier passed away at her home at 315 south Wheeler avenue, early Monday morning following an illness of four months. during the last three months she had been bedfast.
Mrs. Bredemeier, nee Knoblauch, was born at Schmiedefeld, Thueringen, Germany on September 4, 1848, being aged 76 years, 6 months, and 5 days. She came to America in 1872, locating at New Orleans. In 1874, she was untied in marriage with August Bredemeier. In the same year they moved to Nebraska and located on a homestead near Minden, Kearney County. Mr. Bredemeier was killed in a runaway accident in 1890. In 1893, Mrs. Bredemeier moved to Grand Island with her children where she has since resided.
Surviving her are three sons, Franz, August and Henry, and two daughters, Mrs. Amelia Vonderlage and Mrs. Lisette Austin. Three children have also preceded her in death. Mrs. Bredemeier was always a consistent member of the Lutheran church, being connected with the Trinity Lutheran church on East Second Street. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made, word being awaited from a daughter residing in Portland, Oregon.
