E. M. L. Shaw died in Lovelady, where he was a resident, on 27 November 1941. He was 90 years, 7 months, 12 days old, having been born 15 April 1851 in MS. His wife was Elizabeth Shaw. He had been a farmer there for some fifty years, and having been retired since 1921. Cause of death was "cerebral hemorrhage" from "arteriosclerosis" (both horribly misspelled), first occuring on 23 November 1941; Dr. was Harris Welrick, of Lovelady. Funeral home was Callaway, and burial was at Antioch-Lovelady. His father was Washington Shaw, born in SC, and his mother was Nancy Harvey, born SC. Informant was R. A. Shaw.
