Son of James Black Sr. and Jane McDonough. Married to Amelia Bowers, Lived in Jenner, Sommerset Pa before moving his whole family to Ohio about 1850 (but he is on the ohio census as early as 1805 with his family still in Stoney Creek, Sommerset County, PA). Sons Isreal M. black and Hezakiah D. Black, Daughters Jane (never married), Lydia (Phillip Ream), Mary (William Hancock) and Emily (never married), and two sons whose first names I do not know.
