James Black was my Great, Great, Great Grandfather who was Court Martial Man for Bedford County, Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War. He held several positions as a judge and justice of the peace. He was also the grandfather of the famous Judge Jeremiah Sullivan Black who held a position on the Supreme Court of the United States of America as well as Attorney General and Secretary of War under President James Buchanan. The Black Family Cemetery is right across the road from the monument marking the birthplace of Jeremiah Sullivan Black. The monument is just a few feet from the road leading four miles to Shanksville, Pennsylvania where Flight 93 came down during 9/11/2001.
