Ray Burdette Fischer, age 77, of Marion passed away Wednesday evening at Marion General Hospital. Born in Marion on May 1, 1928 to Albert and Tillie (Shirk) Fischer, he married the former Dorcas Sanders and she survives at home. Ray had worked at Tecumseh Products here in Marion and had also been the Pastor of the Harvest Time Chapel in VanLue, Ohio. He attended the Victory Center Church of God here in Marion and was a member of the Marion Community Senior Center. Ray was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Maurice, Ernest, Herman and Ellsworth and 3 sisters; Helen Smith, Ernestine Fischer and Carrie Fischer. Surviving with his wife are his son; Gary A. (Mary) Fischer, his 3 daughters; Mrs. Gary (Rosemary) Cravens of Riverside, Vicki Mathys of Marion and Mrs. Earl (Theresa) Newman of Harpster, 9 grandchildren; Angie (Jason) Thompson, Gary (Beth) Fischer, Kimberly (Patrick) Turner, Gary Cravens Jr., Lori Mathys, Stephanie (Chad) Kitchen, Candice (Shane) Keirns, Jennifer Shaw and Tamara Shaw, 17 great-grandchildren; Derrek, Emily and Jacob Thompson, Kayla Turner, Nathan Cravens, Courtney, Ashley and Jerry Skaggs, Dennis Mathys, Keirstin, Kristopher, Kelsey and Kristian Kitchen, Alethea, Brayden and Camden Keirns and Catarina Newman and 3 special cousins; Mary Montgomery, Ola White and Gerri Shirk. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Nunley and Pastor Charles Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the funeral home.
