Ernest Arden Fischer, age 81, of Columbus, formerly of Marion, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Crown Pointe Healthcare Center in Columbus. Born in Marion on March 30, 1922 to Albert and Tillie (Shirk) Fischer, he married the former Betty Gibson on February 20, 1952 and she preceded him in death in 1988. He was also preceded in death by a son; Ricky, 2 brothers; Herman and Ellsworth and 3 sisters; Ernestine and Carrie Anna Fischer and Helen Smith. A veteran of the United States Army, Ernest served his country during World War II. Surviving are his daughter; Mrs. Mark (Pamela) Lee of Plain City, 2 brothers; Ray of Marion and Maurice "Dick" of Florida, 2 grand- daughters; Kelly and Jacqueline Lee and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Floyd Radebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
