Thomas Edward Berry, Sr., wrote his will on January 26, 1876. The will was proven ten days later on February 7, 1876. Thomas's second wife Sarah Everhart died less than a month later on March 3, 1876. It is possible that Thomas and Sarah had not been in touch with some of Thomas's children in years. (during the trial of his son William, TEB, Sr., stated that he had not been close to his son since he was a boy.) Thomas Edward Berry, Jr., was the executor of his father's will. The will requested that assets be divided among his children--

Probable children by wife Rebecca, analysis done based on their birth years (Rebecca died about 1832):

1. Alexander--no information found, not mentioned in father's will, but some researchers add Allexander as a child, no birth date known

Sarah (1824 TN, married Isaac Hamilton, 1826-1874), Sarah's grave not found, 3 of her children--Nancy Alice Hamilton Dix, Samuel Barrett Hamilton, George Washington Hamilton buried in Girard, Illinois; son Thomas died in Walnut Township, Kansas, some researchers say Sarah died in 1873 in Hawkins County, TN)
3. William N. (1824 TN - 1875 hanged in Rogersville, Hawkins County, Tennessee, for the murder of his wife Elvira Alzira "Allie" Rogers, William's grave has not been found), daughters Mary Berry and Matilda Berry Smith buried in Providence Cemetery, Rogersville, Hawkins County, TN)
