Mrs. Johnson died April 26, 2005, at a Harker Heights nursing center.
She was born March 15, 1930, in Breckenridge, the daughter of the late David Peyton and Millie Leona (Harrison) Griffith.
She married Charles Edward Johnson Sept. 21, 1947, in Breckenridge. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Johnson worked as a secretary for the First Baptist Church in Breckenridge.
She moved in 1972 to the Belton area and worked as a secretary at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for 13 years. She was a member of the Meadow Oaks Baptist Church in Temple.
Survivors included two daughters, Carla Halpayne of Abilene and Caren McGinnis of Harker Heights; her stepmother, Dola Williams of Breckenridge; a brother, Donnie Griffith of Rising Star; two sisters, Faye McCullough and Sue Skidmore, both of Breckenridge; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by a brother, David Griffith; and two sisters, Patricia Jean Griffith and Jessie Hodges.
