RUPERT--Jean Louise MacRae Gibson, 72, Rupert, died Saturay December 28, 1996, at her home in Rupert.
She was born January 23, 1924, at Gooding, Idaho, the daughter of Angus and Hazel Reed MacRae. She attended schools in Paul and graduated from Paul High School. She graduated from Woodbury Business College, in Los Angeles, California, and attneded two years at University of Idaho at Moscow, Idaho.
She married Oris Otto Gibson on September 8, 1944, at Paul, Idaho, and has since resided in Rupert. She taught business at the Paul High School where she was the woman's basketball coach. She has been employed at the Rupert Abstract Company, was former church secretary for the Rupert United Methodist Church, and was the bookkeeper at the Gibson farms.
She was a member of the Rupert United Methodist Church. She was a member of the E-da-ho Chapter Order of Eastern Star, PEO Sisterhood, and a member of Alpha Phi.
She is survived by her husband, Oris, of Rupert; three daughters, Donna Finch, Hood River, Oregon; Carol Westendorf, Portland Oregon; and Janis Gibson, Fallon, Nevada; two sons, Ronald Gibson and Gary Gibson, both of Rupert; three sisters, Mary Lindstrom, Burley, Donna Matthew and Doris Babin, both of Boise; ten grandhildren, Erin and Tyler Fitch, Colin and Lance Gibson, Addie and Jill Westendorf, Dean, Jeffrey and Kristina Gibson, and Exalena Dayley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m.Thursday, January 2, 1997, at the Rupert United Methodist Church, with Pastor Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Rupert Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the place of the service one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Rupert United Methodist Church.
