WEBSTER — Delmer Frank New, 92, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

He was born May 15, 1919, in Ansel, KY, to George and Elsie Moore New. He was a member of the York Street Church of God in Bushnell. He was a World War II veteran, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Master Mason and retired farmer and cattle rancher. During World War II, he served under Gen. Joseph Stillwell in the China-Burma-India Theater.

Survivors include his wife, Datha Helton New; daughters Joyce Sutton, Webster, and Lois Mullins, Mascotte; sons Darrell New, Ypsilanti, MI, and Donald Wayne New, Webster; brother, Paul "Bud" New; sisters Marie Yaden and Faye Taylor; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Bishop Daniel Kellum officiating.

Arrangements are by Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, FL.

Delmer Frank New, 92, of Webster, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Bushnell, FL. He was born May 15, 1919 in Ansel, KY, to the late George and Elsie Moore New. He was a member of the York Street Church of God in Bushnell, FL. He was a World War II Veteran, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Master Mason, retired farmer and cattle rancher. During WW II he served under General Steelwell in the China, Burma and India (CBI) Theater.
He is survived by his wife of 74 yrs., Datha Helton New of Webster, FL; daughters, Joyce (Guy) Sutton of Webster, FL, and Lois Mullins of Mascotte, FL; sons, Darrell (Betty) New of Ypsilanti, MI, and Donald Wayne (Michelle) New of Webster, FL; six grandchildren, Teresa Johnson, Darrell Blaine New, Paul Edward Mullins, Nathaniel New, Sam New, and Datha Green; five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail New, Bridget Mullins, Chris and Frank Johnson;
brother, Paul "Bud" New; sisters, Marie Yaden and Faye Taylor. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Stephanie New; two sisters, Lola Spears and Ida Dick; four brothers, Jim, Elmer, Valando, and Nobel New; son-in-laws, Herman Renner, Paul Mullins, and Noel Faulkner; and daughter in law Charlotte New.
