Mrs. Joe Norby
Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Scheie Lutheran Church for Mrs. Joseph Norby, 73, who died Tuesday evening March 11, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran home in Rushford, where she had lived the past year. The Rev. N.K. Estrem officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The former Stella Erickson, she was born May 22, 1895, in Preble Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Olena Erickson. On Oct. 26, 1912, she married Joseph Norby. They farmed In Preble township until moving to Mabel 11 years ago. In 1967 they moved to Lanesboro. She was a World War II Gold Star Mother and a member of the Scheie Lutheran church and its ALCW.

Survivors are her husband; one son, Walter, Canton; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Opal) Peterson, Peterson, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, William Erickson, Burr Oak, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Faa. White Salmon, Wash., and Mrs. Fred Kuckler, Stacy, Minn. Two sons, Sanford and Joseph Jr., five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
