All that is mortal of Mrs. Geo. D.
Loring now reposes in Oak Knoll cemetery.
Mrs. Loring died in California on the 17th ult, and before passing away she expressed a desire to be buried in the place where she had so
long resided and which she loved so well. Her wishes were faithfully complied with, and on Sunday afternoon in the presence of a number of old friends and neighbors, her husband,
daughters and grandchildren, her remains
were laid alongside those of two children who had preceded her many years ago. The services at the grave were conducted by Rev. E. H. Peatfield of the Congregational church, and a select choir of the same church assisted.
Deceased, whose maiden name was Augusta L. Mudgett, was born in Maine in 1844. She came west with her parents in 1855. The family located
in Cottage Grove, Dakota county, where they resided for a number of years, and removed to Princeton in the early sixties. In 1862 she was
married to Mr. George D. Loring—the ceremony took place in the present Borden home. In 1900 the Lorings moved to California and located in
Sawtelle. Mrs. Loring is survived by her husband, two daughters—Mrs. R.F. McClellan of Sawtelle and Mrs.Chas. Murray of Wyanett—and one
son, Douglas, who is at present in Alaska. Two children died in infancy.
