Reuben was a son of George W. & Mary Ann (Kelch) De Forest. Reuben m. first Stella Webster on 5 Oct. 1911, then secondly Carrie (Conklin) Herrold on 17 June 1958. Reuben's 1972 obit. says that he had farmed in Muscatine Co., IA all of his life until he retired in 1960 and that he was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
