Mary Jane Lovett Sarvis was born August 30, 1864 in the Bayboro area of Horry County, South Carolina. She was the first wife of James S. Norton Sarvis with whom she had ten children: Lizzie Reba Sarvis Cannon, Mary "Massie" Evaline Sarvis, George McCoy Sarvis, Pearley Blanche Sarvis Tyler, Doctor James Scarborough Sarvis, Nancy Ella Sarvis McDowell, Anna W. Sarvis Bullock, William James Sarvis, Dolly Betris Sarvis Ray, and Flossie Sarvis Brigman.

Mary died at age 39 on May 2, 1904 and is buried next to her daughter Mary "Massie" Evaline Sarvis, in the Martin Cemetery in Horry County. I hope someone can add photos of this mother and daughter.
